Hi, can someone tell me in a very clear way what is the role of Enable “Automatic Password Management” in a windows and Linux Managed System? I understand that password rotation will happen in managed account not in managed systems.

Hi Higor,

The managed system dictates if the accounts within it actually get rotated or not. Scenario:

1 - Managed system has Automatic Password Change Option enabled and Managed Account also has it enabled. The managed account password will get rotated

2 - Managed system has Automatic Password Change Option disabled and Managed Account has it enabled: the managed account password does not get rotated.

Remember these settings can also be replaced with a smart rules if the smart rules has a different settings.
