Hi everyone,

Is it possible to delete the completed session recordings after x days when no longer needed for auditing?

For example, some clients have to maintain the records for a maximum of 1yr for auditing, after that logs/records can be deleted.

I know there is no option in Password Safe console, Looking for backend alternative methods.

Hey @Prudhvi Keertipati, I don’t know if this works with the cloud instance, but a trick we would do with UVM’s was move the recordings off the servers and purge them from the database. Otherwise the recordings kind of stick out there forever, or at least they use to, which then also caused user accounts to be orphaned into the system causing things like Idea T2PSM-I-673 to be submitted.

Thanks @MikeK for inputs. I was thinking about the similar approach and wondering what others are doing.

When we purge the recordings data from the database, then we should be able to delete orphaned/inactive user accounts right?

I already voted and following the Idea T2PSM-I-673, it is in consideration for nearly 5 years now. I hope it will be implemented in near future.

Your welcome @Prudhvi Keertipati!  I know when I changed employer’s I went back out to the Aha portal and voted for a few of the Idea’s that I could remember just to get them some more votes. 😃 But I also liked to keep a tidy system and only have active users in there regardless of session recording. That was unfortunately the only way we had ever found or heard to make that happen.

We had gone as far as to create a script to do the recording more and DB entry removal. We couldn’t seem to nail down the API removal because of sync timing though.  But it worked for us, so hope the same process works for you!
