Hello Community!

I guess at least one people had is problem.
Some times depending on the environment (cloud or on-prem) when we are just navigating between the menus, when we click to go to configuration, smart rules or any other menu, simply the Webconsole gets logged out.
Other scenario is when we are using the webconsole and stops to user for few seconds (and really is few seconds) and appears the message "will be logged out soon/extend session"

Have someone get this case? If yes, exists a reason for that and consequently the fix for that?

Obs: in System > Site Options > Session: the time for Session Timout is already on a high time.

Regards,
Felipe

@Felipe S

This is what you need to know about the “Notification Time Before Session Timeout”:

This setting controls when the pop-up warning appears, giving the user time to extend their session before the inactivity limit is reached.

  • Function: It is the number of minutes prior to the configured Session Timeout that the notification is displayed.

  • Formula: The pop-up appears after (Session Timeout - Notification Time) minutes of inactivity.

  • Example (using a 20-minute Session Timeout):

    • If you set the notification to 1 minute, the pop-up shows after 19 minutes of inactivity.

    • If you set the notification to 9 minutes, the pop-up shows after 11 minutes of inactivity.

So, if your user duplicate the session or open a new webconsole page, the original one, will generate more inativity time, causing the logoff before the configured time

You might want to take a look at KB0017374, which explains how to calculate the correct time for the timeout.

Do a test open only one tab with the webconsole and check how much time does it really takes to logoff or show the extension time pop-up!

If this help you, please mark as best answer!

Thank you Paulo.
I've already read those KBs but none of them helped me.
Also reviwed this configurations.

The case is: literally logs out while I work with the system.
detail: I'm not with double session opened in another tab.
The "Your Session is expiring" message appears with no interval, in another words, while I'm using the Webconsole.

Thank you,

Felipe S

This is a cloud instance, correct? There was a bug some time ago where the settings configured on the web console were not correctly applied to the database for the notification timeout. Please open a case making reference to this bug, and Support will correct it for you.

Yep! Cloud and some on-premises environments.

I will open a new one.

Thanks.
