Clipboard Permission on During Password safe session

We are using BeyondTrust Password Safe, and we would like to understand the clipboard permission behavior during Password Safe sessions.

Currently, users are prompted to allow clipboard access every time they start a session. We would like to know:

  • Is it possible to enable clipboard access by default for all Password Safe sessions?
  • Can this setting be configured globally or through a policy/Jump Policy?
  • Are there any security considerations or best practices for enabling clipboard access by default?

For Password Safe there is currently no global setting for clipboard permission, in your 2nd point you mentioned about jump policy which typically refers to SRA products. If you’re using a SRA with Password Safe then there is a Clipboard Synchronization Mode that can be set.

Is this prompt the Windows Remote Desktop dialog rather than in Password Safe?

Microsoft's April 2026 updates (KB5083769 / KB5082052 on Win11, KB5082200 on Win10 ESU) changed .rdp file handling so every launch now asks the user to explicitly tick which local resources to redirect (clipboard included).

I believe this can be changed via regkey on the endpoint (probably could apply via GPO if you want global).
