Question

macOS Standby Jump Client

I am trying to move us away from the deprecated support button. My understanding is that the standby jump client should provide a user driven support request similar to support button. My question is what does the user do to initiate a support chat from the jump client? I have it installed on my computer, I can see my jump client in standby in the rep console. From the client my only options are to disable/uninstall or check-in. I was expecting an option to start a support chat.

Hello @rfrutiger  - So, the standby Jump Client has an addtional option of a “Support Button Profile” to be installed along side it, when creating a new Jump Client through /login. The stand-alone Support Button is being deprecated, but the Button itself is now moved to the Jump Client installer, so it is now deployed from there, along side a Stand-By Jump Client.

I believe this new feature is outlined in this documentation: https://docs.beyondtrust.com/rs/docs/deploy-jump-clients#jump-client-mass-deployment-wizard

Phill,

Thanks for the response, it looks like support button profile only supports windows and linux. I have created a new standby client with a new support button profile, but it hasn’t changed anything when I install the jump client.
