BeyondTrust Privileged Remote Access 26.2: Smarter Sessions, Sharper Control

Privileged Remote Access 26.2 introduces AI sessions summaries, deeper credential controls, and enhanced auditability to sharpen session visibility and accelerate service delivery.

Session Intelligence That Works as Hard as Your Team Does

Privileged access used to end at the session. You granted access, monitored it, recorded it, and if you needed to understand what happened, you had to manually review hours of recordings. BeyondTrust Privileged Remote Access (PRA) 26.2 changes that.

With AI-generated session summaries, in-session credential injection, mandatory access justification, and keystroke-level logging, Privileged Remote access 26.2 turns every session into structured, auditable, and reusable intelligence, without slowing your team down or compromising control.

Key Enhancements in Privileged Remote Access 26.2

  • AI Session Summaries

Before: Session wrap-up was a manual process. Users wrote notes from memory—if they documented them at all—resulting in inconsistent quality and delayed handovers. While search and reporting tools existed, understanding what happened in a session still required admins to manually query and stitch results together.

Now: Privileged Remote Access automatically generates a structured, standardized summary the moment a session ends. Each summary includes:

  • Case Summary / Issue Description: A concise, AI-generated overview of the problem.

  • Step-by-Step Breakdown: A chronological record of every action taken during the session.

  • System Information & Tags: Automatic tagging of applications, operating systems, and issue types (e.g., network, software, and more).

  • Key Highlights: A bulleted list of the main points discussed during the session.

Summaries are editable for accuracy, exportable in multiple formats, available in multiple languages, and flow directly into platforms like Salesforce and ServiceNow. Beneath the readable summary, PRA also generates machine-readable fields, including session intent, actions taken, risk and compliance signals, and outcomes. These fields are queryable across thousands of sessions and consumable by automation engines and IT service management (ITSM) systems.

What AI session summaries change operationally

The real value of a session dips drastically the moment the session ends. Capturing that knowledge depended on manual documentation, which rarely happens consistently at scale. By generating structured intelligence automatically, PRA turns each session into data you can trust, search, and build on: accelerating handovers, ensuring consistent reporting, and creating an auditable record tied to specific user actions. Because this data is privilege-aware and machine-readable, it doesn't just sit in a log file. Instead, it feeds automation, powers prevention loops, and becomes a reusable remediation asset the next time a similar issue appears.

Beekeepers Hot Topics:

Mapping privileged accounts to regular accounts based on different attributes

From what I can tell, dedicated account mapping (e.g. KB0017035) the only option available is to map the exact same attribute in both domains. For example,

employeedomain\user1 has attribute1 set to “user1”

privilegeddomain\admin1 has attribute1 set to “user1”

to drive the mapping via smart rules.

However, that implies that modifying attribute1 in employeedomain to a different value, say, “user2” would grant user1 access to user2’s privileged resources, giving domain1 authority over a privileged domain’s access.

What I want to be able to do is have privilegeddomain\admin1 attribute1 set to “user1”, and map that to employeedomain\user1’s name field (or samaccountname, or SID - something not modifiable without breaking the employeedomain\user1 account).

Is that possible?
