PRA Console

In AWS, we created a Global Accelerator service and associated the Windows machines used by the Risk-Team with this accelerator service.

Then, the Risk Team will access the Windows machine using the IP provided by the acceleration service.
In terms of user experience, it is much smoother than directly connecting to a Windows machine, and it is convenient to operate on a Windows machine.

However, after connecting to the Windows machine via PRA-Console, the fluidity decreases, operations become sluggish, which is not conducive to data processing actions.

So, I would like to know if PRA has its own built-in acceleration service. Or, can I configure AWS Global Accelerator for PRA? This would improve the user experience for staff working in China.

My pleasure Carlos.  Now, knowing this is cloud hosted (assuming Beyondtrust cloud), we do not have a cloud presence in China currently.  The closest hosting location is Asia - Singapore and Japan.

So… this may help with latency but is not likely going to completely resolve your issue.  The main focus of your issue is China.

I think the questions are…

  • Where is your PRA deployment housed?
  • Where are your reps located in relation to your target endpoints?
  • You state “user experience for China staff”… are users in China connecting to endpoints outside of China or visa versa?

Let’s rule out latency, if possible.

@tdearman

  • Where is your PRA implementation located? It is located in Brazil.
Where are your representatives located in relation to your target points of sale? They are strategically located in Brazil and China.
You mention "user experience for employees in China"... are users in China connecting to endpoints outside of China or vice versa? Users in China are connecting to endpoints located in both China and Brazil.

Thank you so much

Thanks for the information.

I feel confident that you are certainly experiencing network latency strictly due to the distance of the connections.  Screen sharing sessions from China to Brazil would expect to have latency.  The sessions of China reps connecting to China endpoints would still be experiencing latency because both the rep and endpoint are connected to the appliance in Brazil.

Our product called ATLAS is designed for this type of deployment - https://docs.beyondtrust.com/pra/docs/on-prem-cluster

Thank you for sharing the documentation.
Is this service an add-on to the contract, or would we need to contact the account manager? Based on the documentation, we are not aware of the URL to access the ATLAS product.

Is your current deployment cloud or on premise?  Either way, yes, ATLAS is an additional cost, plus a purchase of additional appliances referred to as traffic nodes.

For any sales related questions, you should certainly contact your account manager.

The deployment is in the cloud. I appreciate the support and information shared. We will contact the account manager about this. This should initially resolve the issue between the endpoint connections, right?
