BeyondTrust EPM Client 26.2.1.417 - PSADT v3

Hi,

I just wonder if anyone else experiencing an issue with PM Client Version 26.2.1.417 and PSADT (v3).

What we see in our environment is that after we install 26.2.1.417, that afterwards we cannot deploy stuff anymore using PSADT v3 as Deploy-Application.exe is crashing.

Therefore we are currently using PM Client 26.1.59 where we do not see this issue.

Anyone else seeing same ?

Check to see if it is related to the PGhook.dll which is very likely, but odd that it should happen with the new client. Loads of people uses the PS Application Deployment Tool Kit and would likely run into the same issue so “good” find

I have no customers as of now running 26.2.1.417 yet and also using “PS Application Deployment Tool Kit”

yes it is very odd but there was a change in 26.2.1 specifically to PSADT which might be related.

Hi @Jens Hansen

Have you tried 26.2.1 AND adding the exe to DriverInjectionFallback key as outlined in KB0023067?
That was the nature of the change; to use a different (non-conflicting) hook injection mechanism.

Forgot to mention - one workaround would be to add "Deploy-Application.exe" to Driverhookexclusions with a reboot required. We did not go with the workaround but just used version 26.1.59 for now.
