Hi team,

I am pursing with course endpoint-privilege-management-windows-bcie . Under this course, I am doing the LAB part. I was trying to complete the LAB 2 Installing the Package Manager.
Under this LAB I followed all the steps as mentioned in document .  However after installation I am not able to see the below services under services .msc
1.Avecto IC3 Adapter

2. Privilege Guard Client

I could only see PMC PackageManager under location  C:\Program Files\Avecto and other 2 services are not visible.

Under services also I only see BeyondTrust Privilege Management Package Manager and other services 2 services
BeyondTrust Privilege Management Cloud Adapter and Avecto Defendpoint Service  are not present.

Under system tray I don’t see BT icon. Under installed software I see the software is installed though. I have restarted LAB01 multiple times, tried to uninstall and install multiple times. But no luck

I am sharing all the relevant share shots for reference . can any please check and help me . I am totally blocked because of this .

Package is installed
Package manager is installed
package manager  from sevices.msc
Under system tray, client is not present
Only package manager folder

Regards,
Imran Aliyani

The package manager will be responsible for downloading and installing the EPM-W client and adapter. Did you configure the Package Manager installation key and group within PM Cloud console? You can refer to this KB article below.

Hi Howard, thanks for the reply .

Yes I have followed all the steps .

I followed below steps

  1. Logged in to PMC
  2. under configuration→ clicked on package manager installation
  3. selected key as system generated and selected the relevant group
  4. copied the command and downloaded the package manager exe.
  5. installed the package manager on system . opened powershell as admin and executed the command
  6. package is installed . It is also shown in PMC under computer group.
  7. But Avecto adapter and other service is not installed . CLient is also not visible under system try.
let me know if I have missed anything
    Regards,
    Imran Aliyani

Package Manager will initiate the download of the EPM Client and adapter and may take a while. If after 30mins you do not see the client and adapter being installed check your Windows Application logs to see if the Package Manager is having an issue with the download/installation of the EPM client or Adapter.

Hi Howard, I had installed the package manager last week . I still dont see it . In between I had restarted the machine as well multiple times. I also uninstalled and installed the Package manager multiple times.

However no luck.

Shall I try to do the step again (uninstall and install back )and keep the machine ideal for 30 mins ? Since Lab hours are limited , I had not kept the system ideal for the 30 mins. I might have kept it for 15-20 mins though.

Any pointers?

I see that you’ve already raised a support case and they have advise you to reach out to the BTU team. Please reach out to them as it appears that the lab endpoint has a connectivity issue.
