Hi All,

Any Admins out there have users using Visual Studio 2022 connecting to Github Repos while on EPM? Did you guys have to do anything different to get it to work?

There were few users where they wanted to connect with GitHub copilot , so they can manage their GitHub repos easily . The issue was they were not able to save their creds of GitHub so they used windows credentials manager as a alternative.

EPM was not cause of that issue worked upon.

Thanks @Akshay Sharma. My users work fine when they are in the Local Admin Group. When they are on an EPM policy however they get asked for Git credentials, but only when opening Visual Studio by right clicking the icon and running in “as admin” mode. If they open Visual Studio regularly, they can clone repos from GitHub fine and not receive the credential prompt. However, my users need to run Visual Studio in “as admin” mode to perform other tasks that requires them to open Visual Studio “as admin”.

Hello,

what were the symptoms of this issue? I have a issue now where admin users are unable to load/re-load their repos from git.

The load fails with this error: “could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.Build, Version=15.1.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=#' or one of its dependencies. Access is denied."

Any advice would be helpful.
