Setting Up Identity Security Insights for Sub-Domains
Identity Security Insights can be set up for sub-domains. Extra collectors may need to be set up depending on the network connectivity of your organization's environment and the size of the domain.
If one machine or member server can reliably connect to all domains and they are not too large (less than 100k users across all domains), only one Insights collector will need to be installed as a minimum to pull information from all the sub-domains.
If the connection is unreliable and or large, then separate Insights collectors with targeted domain activated will be required to use Insights with sub-domain, otherwise, data may be doubled when it is collected.
Note: Separate insights connectors with targeted domain are recommended for any environments with sub-domains even smaller environments in case of any network failures.

How to activate targeted domain
Warning: BeyondTrust does not provide support for problems that arise from improper modification of the registry. The Windows registry contains information critical to the computer and applications. Make sure it is backed up before modifying it. For more information on the Windows Registry Editor and how to back up and restore it, refer to the Windows registry information for advanced users Microsoft article.
To activate targeted domain create the Domain registry key using the below steps:
1. Open the Registry editor
2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\BeyondTrust\Insights\
3. Create a String Value with the name "Domain" then add the domains to be targeted separated by a comma (The value cannot include spaces) for example if you had domain1 domain2 and domain 3 you would enter domain1,domain2,domain3.
