We’re currently using BeyondTrust Password Safe to manage SSH access to a large number of Linux servers (100+), where users authenticate using their AD accounts.Access to the servers works fine through Password Safe, but we’re running into an issue when users need to elevate privileges. When they run sudo su, the system prompts for a password, but since password retrieval is disabled, users can’t proceed.We want to avoid enabling password retrieval or exposing any credentials to users, but still allow them to perform privileged operations when required.At the same time, managing sudo access directly on each server (e.g., updating /etc/sudoers individually or using NOPASSWD per user) isn’t really practical at this scale.So I wanted to check with the community:Is there a way to handle sudo password injection through Password Safe for SSH sessions? How are others managing privilege escalation in similar environments without exposing credentials? Any recommended best practices for scaling

Hello everyone,  I’ve no found anything about Zabbix in KBs or docs and I would like to know:Someone have included the Zabbix management with Password Safe Cloud? I’ve created a scan using only IPs, the agent found, but I can’t rename the Assets. I just have to rename the assets (to better view in enviroment), manage they in Password Safe, rotate the password and put in the group with all user can use.   

Hello,I am working on creating a new BT EPM policy for our Win 10 and 11 system in our environment. I created an application group and added it under Low Flex workstyle. I am trying to create a policy that will block all the applications except the ones i have approved in SCCM Software Center and InTune. My problem is that i have a list of couple of hundred of approved apps and i don’t want to add them in the application group manually one by one. is there a way to import them from an excel list if i populate the excel with publisher and product name and whatever else i might need. or is there any API i can use for that.Thank You

I have a question regarding use of BeyondTrust Password Safe Cloud, specifically around application session security controls.We are currently experiencing several security concerns when launching application sessions through the platform:1. File Access via Chrome DownloadWhen an application session is initiated, users can successfully access the target application via Chrome. However, if a user downloads a file and clicks “Show in folder”, it opens File Explorer on the application server.This behavior allows users to:Browse system directories Access sensitive locations (e.g., C:\ drive)2. Unrestricted Browser UsageWithin the same application session, users are able to:Open new browser tabs Navigate to other websites or internal applications Perform actions outside the intended application scopeSecurity ConcernsThis creates a significant risk, as users may gain unintended access to:Unauthorized system resources Sensitive files and directories Has anyone implemented similar restrictions

When a BeyondTrust Password Safe Cloud tenant is provisioned with Pathfinder, is direct access via the default subdomain (e.g., example.ps.beyondtrustcloud.com) completely restricted or disabled? If so, could you clarify the exact URL, FQDN, or endpoint that needs to be allowed from the Resource Broker to access Password Safe, including any required ports or protocols?

has anybody ever done any load testing on the appliances to generate some logs? My main purpose is to get a baseline of the logs so I can create monitor alerting out of it. And since I have not seen any logs of such sort yet, I have to generate it so I can do a query based criteria to target such threshold failures.

Hi All I have been looking arround for a document that can help in building the Beyondinsight Using UVM for Privilege Management for Windows & Mac in Active Active mode for DC & DR. What are the prerequisites and how to establish the DC & DR scenarios, what are the things that we should be really looking into for the deployment. My another query is how does the Agent understand the DC & DR scenario as if we need to deploy 1 Management node in DC and 1 Management node in DR with 2 Event worker nodes in DC and 2 Event Worker nodes in DR. Where in DC we have SQL in Cluster with Always ON Availability Group and Same deployed seprately in DR too. Can some one explain as how it works and what are the precautionary measurements we need to take care of.

Hi Guys, Can anyone address this query? Does PRA Remote RDP Jump using SecureApp with Type Remote Desktop Agent requires Cal License. Use case is we have an application that needs to be accessed, so we configured the Remote RDP jump short cut and configured  SecureApp with Type selected Remote Desktop Agent. If Yes Cal is needed then why do we have two options one RemoteApp and the other Remote Desktop Agent. please let me know how to go ahead without the Cal license for this use case

Basically a standard user , after logging in to PS, should be able to access their dedicated/mapped admin account on two different servers with separate Access Policies. They do not have access to the “standard to admin account” mapping rule but have access to separate smart groups as shown below with different policies. When the stnadard user log on they see both Access Policies as options.1. “Standard_User01”  Mapped to →    “Dedicated_Admin_User01”   Linked To→   “Server01”   →  AccessPolicyAuto-Approval2.  “Standard_User01”  Mapped to →    “Dedicated_Admin_User01”   Linked To→   “Server02”   →  AccessPolicyApprovalRequired

Hi teamI have some requirement due to which I need to create 2 entries for same managed system .  I have created those entries . Both systems have same Name ,IP and port. Description is different only . I need to understand how can I create the smart rule which can target only one system. I want to write the smart rule for both assets individually.What condition shall I add such that only one system is returned when smart rule is executed.One of the option would be quick rule . But I want to understand is there any way I can use the smart rule and get this done .I was looking at the option for manage system smart rule and I could see there is an condition for alias I wanted to understand how can I set the alias for both systems? If it is possible then I can use it to distinguish both systems. I dont see any option to use the descriptionNeed help here please  Regards,Imran   

Hello , I see there is only TOTP MFA option in PRA . We are using PRA for external Vendor access where the accounts are quarterly reviewed but as the number of vendor grows , manual errors might increase. Also as the review can not be made more frequent , there is a possibility that Terminated vendor user still has access as they know their PRA login password and have TOTP MFA configured using a personal mobile device. These user identities are in Active Director as well as PRA internal DB. Is there any way to implement email-based MFA so that terminated user will immediately lose access as they wont have access to company email ?I see Radius auth and OKTA can be used both have separate trade-offs

We have a EPM workstyle dedicated to the service desk, which takes effect at the start of Beyond Trust remote session. This makes use of Audit scripting / Rule scripting to sense the initiation of the session and change the effective workstyle until the session completes. During the session, support technician is able to elevate the application through Prompt.We have observed that this script provided by BT for this use case is executing the rule only once, when another application is open during the same session, the end user workstyle (Medium Flexibility prompt) is getting applied and application is not elevated. Please let us know, how to fix this.

Greetings all I have a developer who is using AWS Secrets Manager for his code. However, he is passing the username and password from Active Directory over to the secret in AWS Secrets Manager and calling that JSON from Secrets Manager.Ideally, yes, he should be calling it from BT and not AWS Secrets Manager but that would involve a lot of code rewrite for him on a production system.We are looking at adding the secret in Secrets Manager as a synced account with the service account so that when we rotate the password on the service account, it would also rotate the password on the AWS Secrets Manager secret to the same password.What he needs though, complicates it. He is storing this in his AWS secret{"binddn":"cn=ldapauth_account,OU=Service,OU=Accounts,OU=company,DC=domain,DC=com","password":"abcabc"}When BT rotates the password on the service account in AD, it writes the password to the secret in AWS wiping out everything so he ends up with something like newpassword instead of the wh

Hi AllI am trying to find a way to use the API to force check in of vault accounts which have had their password checked out for over 7 days,I think it is crazy to allow the PRA and the vault account members to checkout their password and allow it to stay checked out (this could be over a year) therefore they could use the password and put it into some automated tasks where it is in plain text and as it is never checked in this will always stay the same.It seems a lot safer if there was an option within PRA to force check in ( a tick box or something ) and a correct schedule that could be set that would check in all passwords on a set day and time and rotate them. Instead I am having to mess about with APIs which are not very well documented in my opinion.Therefore has anyone needed to do this and if so how did they go about it?Thank you in advance.

Is it possible to archive transfer on a Remote VNC jump?

Does anyone know how to get BeyondTrust Jump Client or Customer Client working with interactivity on Intune Multi-App Kiosk machines? We have our Jump Client installed but there’s no interactivity in Kiosk mode. And Customer Client simply gets blocked. Part of the issue with whitelisting apps with AssignedAccess seems to be the multiple EXEs to whitelist and not allowing dynamic paths. E.g. I think bomgar-scc.exe needs to be whitelisted but it lives in C:\Program Files\BeyondTrust\bomgar-scc\*\ bomgar-scc.exe 

When scanning assets with PWS we get an enumeration of all users that have permissions on this  system under advanced details => scan data => users However, we only see user here from the domain directly linked to this system. Users that have permissions on this system trough a trust with another domain are not enumerated. Is there any way of getting visibility on this?

Hi everyone,I have a question regarding PASM. I have users and devices managed through Password Safe, and session delivery is handled by PRA. If I want a user connecting from PRA with credentials injected from Password Safe to provide a reason for connecting, where do I configure this in PS or PRA? Also, if they need an approval workflow, where do I configure that in PS or PRA?

I tried to install my EPM for Windows Local AD connector on a server but it failed on the activation part.Error is:[ERR] [BT.LocalAdConnector.Services.ActivationService] [9] Activation failed.System.Net.Http.HttpRequestException: No such host is known. (xxxxxx-xxxxxxxxx-services.pm.beyondtrustcloud.com:443) ---> System.Net.Sockets.SocketException (11001): No such host is known. My server is connected to my proxy server for external access and I have the policy opened from my server to xxxxxx-xxxxxxxxx-services.pm.beyondtrustcloud.com but it is not getting triggered at all. Am I missing something here? do I need any additional URL for the activation of the AD connector?

I can log into the portal but when I click on links for KB articles or cases nothing happens. If I use a direct link to a KB article I get a message that it was not found. Is anyone else experiencing problems or do I need to look for issues on my ends?

Some users intermittently encountered this error in Password Safe PAM:Because of an error in data encryption, this session will end. Please try connecting to the remote computer again.After that error message, the session disconnects.Tech Support determined that the issue is caused due to a network-related TLS/SSL interference between the appliances and target servers. However, Networking team couldn't find any issues to fix.Please share with us if anyone encountered this type of issue.ThanksMeku

Hi Team, The customer has a requirement to maintain segregation for administrators across different sites. Could you please advise how this can be achieved? Currently, we have five sites (A, B,C,D,E,F configured in an Active-Active setup. Each site has its own set of administrators. The customer now requires segregation of duties so that administrators from one site are restricted from viewing or accessing assets, groups, or directory queries belonging to other sites. For example, administrators from the Asite should only be able to view and manage assets, groups, and directory queries related to A, and should not have visibility into resources from the other sites. Please let us know the possible approach to implement this requirement.

Recently, we upgraded several customers to versions 25.1.1 and 25.3 of Password Safe/BI, and we have encountered an issue when accessing some SSH devices:"Managed system host key check is enabled but the list of accepted host keys is empty."In some cases, enabling the Auto Accept Initial Key property on the Managed System resolves the issue.However, for certain managed systems, this setting causes access problems.Has anyone else experienced this behavior or found an definitive and clear solution?
